The spiral of life symbol is one of the most widespread forms in nature. We are surrounded by spirals at every level.
Spiral symbolises development, extension, rotation and progress. Spiral shows us the cyclical nature of evolution where the rhythms are repeated. The spiral reflects the natural cycles of life – birth, death, and rebirth. It serves as a reminder that these natural transitions are part of a greater cosmic rhythm. Embracing these cycles can help us find comfort and meaning in times of change.
Each loop of the spiral progresses to a higher level, yet always returns to the same place. It demonstrates life renewal by returning to the source.
Spiritually, the spiral of life is a symbol of the path to be travelled in life. The Celts, the Mycenaeans and other ancient people used spirals to represent the concept of the great cosmic river of the universe.
Spirals’ spiritual meaning is interconnected and stemming from the source of all creation. Everything is born in curved shapes. There are no straight lines in nature.
The spiral symbolises the steady flow that exists within everything. When you are connected to your source and spiritual self, you are in a state of BEING that allows energy to freely move in and out of your experience. When you are allowing, life brings with it wonderful experiences.
The spiral is the symbol of life, creation, nature, strength and energy, and evokes a path of Growth and Transformation.
When I gave myself the gift of pausing and reflecting, I noticed how disconnected I was from mother nature, its wisdom and seasonal cycles.
Over the last four years and through the deep teachings of nature’s seasonal cycles, I have been working with the energies, symbolism and representation of the seasonal turning points. I learnt to listen deeply to the whispers from nature, to connect to the natural cycles, which helped me observe my own changing inner landscape to process the changes and grow together with nature and not against her.
By connecting to the rhythms of nature, I started connecting deeply with my own body, heart, soul and mind in ways that are nurturing, grounding and understanding. I learnt that our own bodies hold a cyclical wisdom and when our cycle is in sync with the cycles of nature, our life flows harmoniously. Connecting to the rhythms of nature became my potent spiritual practice; I started exploring different ways to be “in flow” with life. It has also been the greatest tool for truly knowing myself and honouring my own unique and ever evolving needs and who I am becoming.
I used the metaphor of river flow throughout this reflective journal, which inspired me in creating my logo – a spiral connected to an anchor with two prongs: Ease and Flow. Reflecting on my life’s journey, I realised that, many times, I had pushed the river flow, thinking I was in control. Other times, resisting the river flow or divine flow cycle has manifested itself in recurrent diseases and imbalances. What I know for sure is that if we continue going through life without being connected and grounded, we will never experience sustainable inner peace and joy. This led me to create the anchor, as without it, I will continue falling into the same traps.
My high dream is that this reflective journal and set of cards help you to start noticing and becoming more conscious that living and working in today’s VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) virtual world, where 24/7 is the norm and working across different time zones the expectation, is not healthy and goes against the rhythms of nature and its seasonal changes. As HUMAN BEINGS, we are the only creatures on this planet who don’t follow these natural rhythms; no wonder we are living like headless chickens. My high dream is to help you lead your life, teams, mentoring, coaching and supervision practice more creatively in sync with nature and its rhythms.
I hope this work will touch a cord in your soul when you let it sink in into every cell of your BEING.
